Shock as dismembered bodies found in Rhyl on Sea
Council to be sued after horrendous footie pitch find
A QUESTION mark hangs over the future of Rhyl on Sea's all weather pitch after
body parts were discovered on the playing field.
The area, which is used all seasons for a variety of games,
was last month closed indefinitely after the horrific discovery.
It is believed that the gory find is the result of unruly
youths crawling through damaged fencing in search of fun and
hi-jinks.
The parts, thought to belong to two teenagers local to the
area, were discovered early on Wednesday morning by Patagonian
immigrant, Tom Jones, who was walking his dog in the area.
Speaking through a translator, Mr Jones said, "My dog, he
started barking and slipped off his leash to chase a little
something in the grass.
"I though that perhaps it was a lady dog, but no, when I got
close, I found him with his head buried inside somebody's chest
cavity.
"I managed to pull him off and lifted him in my arms to flee
the field before the spirits of the dead could come after us.
"Bruno, my dog was still chewing on what looked like a human
heart. It was disgusting."
After returning to his River Street bedsit, Mr Jones showered
before calling the police from a public callbox.
Officers sealed the area with yellow and black stripy tape and
armed guards patrolled the area while scientific support officers
examined the remains.
A police spokesman later confirmed that the remains were human
and named the deceased as brothers John Bodfor, 14 and Damien
Aquarium, 13.
A solicitor for the boys' mother, Charlene Smith, 27 said that
she intends to sue the council for negligence by failing to prevent
them from breaking into the secured and padlocked property.
Spokesman Karen Bodelwyddan said, "There have been some issues with
the fencing and our officers are holding discussions with Rhyl High
School to establish the way forward and it is anticipated that the
matter will be resolved in the near future."
